Children are also signposted to local clubs and events to encourage them to develop their skills and maintain their fitness and enthusiasm outside school.

Within the school, houses will compete in regular sports days. All teams receive recognition for their participation and sporting success in the weekly assemblies.
Parents and governors are fully engaged and supportive of Holbrook’s PE and school sport. To celebrate children’s sporting achievements, team photos and results are shared on the website alongside regular assemblies and newsletters. We also display any trophies won by the children in the school entrance. All children enter at least one competition/festival a year; with their parents being active supporters at all events. We now have many pupils attending community clubs, and parents, with an interest in sport, helping at after school clubs PE lessons and competitions.
By working in partnership, parents recognise the enthusiasm and achievements their children have, which further enhances our pupils to be talented happy, healthy and active.
Holbrook CE Primary School Sports Premium Information
In April 2013, the Government announced new funding of £150 million for physical education (PE) and sport, to be used to improve the quality and breadth of PE and sport provision. Funding has been allocated to all maintained and state-funded schools with primary phase pupils from 1 September 2013. The government recently announced this funding would be extended until 2020. Funding is being jointly provided by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport, and will see money going directly to primary school head teachers to spend on improving the quality of sport and PE for all their children. Our allocation for 2020/2021 is £16000 plus an additional £10 per pupil which means our sports premium budget is £17400.
