Remote Education

OUR REMOTE LEARNING OFFER
There may be times when children's learning may move to remote access due to national restrictions, or where individual children are unable to access school for a period of time, but are still able to access learning. Our aim is to provide a learning offer which is engaging, supportive and relevant so that children are able to continue to make progress. The curriculum content shared with pupils and parents at home identifies key learning from our curriculum, so that children are able to make progress along with their peers. Please see below the key principles we are using to deliver our curriculum.

LEARNING AT HOME
Where children are unable to access school, teachers will share their learning via Class Dojo. Learning will focus on key objectives linked to the core subjects, and our 'red letter learning' for the wider curriculum.

SHARING LESSONS
Class teachers will liaise with families where individual students are unable to access school, to agree a program which meets the needs of the child and carers. As a minimum, daily activities in Maths and English are provided for short term absences, and a full program of learning, with regular teacher check ins.

COMMUNICATION AND SUPPORT
Class Dojo allows direct communication between home and school. Where the school identifies that specific pupils are not engaging with the remote learning offer, these pupils are contacted directly and additional support is offered. The safeguarding team will also carry out ‘safe and well checks’ for some pupils.
