How do we ensure School Lunches provide a balance diet for our children?
We currently buy our school lunches from the Derbyshire CC catering service. They employ dieticians to design the menus (currently available on the school website) to ensure the children receive a balanced diet over the week. If your child does not like the school lunches then the cook can prepare baguettes or baked potato on request.
Do the school run extra curricular clubs?
Currently, staff run a number of extra-curricular sessions such as gardening, choir and school council, mainly during lunchtime. In recent years we have also invited Mad Science into school to run an after-school club. We will continue to look for other recommended providers in order to offer a wide variety of activities. Mr Wildig runs a sports club every Tuesday evening, he rotates the activities and age range of the children who are invited. We also compete in a number of inter-school events that take place after school
How do parents make suggestions regarding the running of the school?
We are always happy to listen to parents points of views in order to improve our school. We will be arranging our first parents forum before half term, which will be an opportunity to discuss the school in an informal situation (with coffee & biscuits) with myself and members of the senior leadership team.
